Henry L. Field, age 87, a resident of West Chicago and formerly a longtime resident of Wheaton, died Sunday, December 18 at the Johnson Medical Center at Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream.
He was born on September 6, 1918 in Chicago to Warren and Sarah "Nelly" Field. During WWII he served in the US Army in Europe and the Pacific. Mr. Field worked as a systems designer for IL Bell for 43 years. He was an active member of the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church where he worked in AWANA for many years and worked in the church library.
Henry is survived by three children, Lynette (Frank) Olson of Colorado, Janice Ceszyk of West Chicago and Larry (Kathy) Field of Wisconsin, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Warren E. Field of NV and one sister, Helen Bothwell of CA.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Ethel, one sister, Esther Redgate and his parents.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church, 520 E. Roosevelt Rd. in Wheaton. Interment will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace.
