Helene Gleason, nee Locklund, age 77, a resident of Carol Stream, formerly of the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago, died Monday, July 7 at the Du Page Convalescent Center in Wheaton. She was born on March 7, 1931 in Chicago.

She was a member of St. Lukes Parish in Carol Stream. Her daily phone calls to her six children filled her days. She enjoyed playing cards and dining out with family. Her loving spirit and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

She is survived by six children, Suzanne (Dean) Mennecke of Wheaton, Linda (Mick) McNeil of Carol Stream, Michael (Von) Gleason of AZ, Patrick Gleason of Carol Stream, Diane Gleason of FL, and Peggy (Jerry) Ramirez of Carol Stream, 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and her former husband and good friend, Jerry Gleason.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister, and son-in-law, Ivan Gallagher.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, from 4 to 9 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. Wheaton, where a funeral will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
