It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Elaine Wiggen Wilson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, whose life was filled with adventure, love, and cherished traditions.

Helen was born on March 24, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in the Montclare area of Chicago, Illinois. Her early years shaped her into the kind, thoughtful, and adventurous woman her loved ones knew and cherished.

Helen enjoyed a long and fulfilling career at United Airlines, where she worked for over 25 years. Her professional life complemented her passion for travel, fueling her sense of wonder and exploration.

In addition to her love of travel, Helen was a gifted artist who enjoyed creating ceramics, crafting pieces that reflected her creativity and care. She was also an avid golfer, spending many happy days on the course and embracing the camaraderie and joy of the sport.

Her creativity and warmth shone brightest during the holiday season, as she brought magic to Christmases year after year. Her thoughtful touches and joyful spirit created lasting memories for her family, who will forever treasure her love and dedication to making those moments special.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave B. Wiggen and Louise Wiggen (Braa); her brother, Bernard Wiggen; and many other loved ones. She is survived by her loving children, Richard E. Dohnke (wife, Marie Dohnke) and Jayelouise Sutphin (Dohnke); her cherished grandchildren, Wesley B. Dohnke, Shannon Dohnke, Amber L. Sutphin, Ashley Sutphin, and Timothy Vogel; her siblings Joan Wiggen Wellick, Karin Wiggen Kohn, and Ralph Wiggen; and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

To honor Helen's love for animals, donations in her memory can be made to the National Wildlife Federation, the World Wildlife Fund, or your local animal shelter.

A service and the spreading of Helen's ashes will be held at a future date and location to be announced.

Helen's legacy of love, exploration, creativity, and generosity will live on in their hearts and in the countless lives she touched.
