Helen M. Carcaise, age 95, a resident of Wheaton, and formerly of Florida, and the Pittsburgh area, died Thursday, November 10 at the DuPage Convalescent Center. She was born August 13, 1910 in Columbus, OH.
Helen enjoyed needle-work and quilting; she also was actively involved with the Alzheimer's Association in the Florida area - often sitting for families that needed a break. She loved her family, gardening, cooking, reading and travel, and will be remembered as a wonderful homemaker.
She is survived by her two children, Frank Carcaise of Beverly Hills, FL, and her daughter, Kathy (Chris) Snyder of Wheaton; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Rosemary Sposito of Hartford, CT; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Dr. Michael A. Carcaise; and her two sisters, Margaret Keegan, and Katherine Linke.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13, from 2 until 6 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, where a service will follow at 6:00 p.m. Interment is private at Cheshire Cemetery in Cheshire, MA.
