Helen M. Brinkman, age 89, a longtime resident of Warrenville, and a resident of Wheaton for 14 years, died Thursday, February 17, at Wynscape Healthcare Center in Wheaton.
She was born in Chicago on October 24, 1921 to George and Edna Stubbe. She was a 1939 graduate of the Wheaton Community High School. She was a room mother at her children's grade school and also a Brownie/Girl Scout leader. She was an active member at the Community Baptist Church in Warrenville. While at Wyndemere Retirement Center she joined a number of activities including the Wyndemere Ambassadors, and served as a Vesper usher.
Helen is survived by her two daughters, Judy Zarn of Ironside, OR, and Joyce (Lee) Chorley of Carol Stream, IL, three grandchildren, Brian, Scott, and Ann Chorley, and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Brinkman, and her sister, Grace Stubbe.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 20, from 7 until 9 P.M. and again from 9:00 a.m. until the time of a funeral service on Monday, February 21, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens in Oakbrook Terrace.
