Hazel M. Samuelson, age 100, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, died Monday, January 2, at the Johnson Medical Center at Windsor Park. She was born on September 27, 1905 in Chicago.
Mrs. Samuelson and her husband Douglas Samuelson moved to Wheaton in 1950. They owned and operated the Towne Gift Shoppe on Front St. in Wheaton.
She is survived by two daughters Carol (Robert) Cryer of Potomac, MD and Gloria (Grant) Sherman of Wheaton and six grandchildren, James Sherman, Susan (Doug) Moye, Donna (Lonnie) Borntreger, Robert (Jody) Cryer, Caren (Lowell) Sturgill and Kim (Mark) Sommerville, 15 great-grandchildren and one sister Evelyn Hayes and sister-in-law Edith Peterson.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, June.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7 from 4 until 6 p.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the chapel of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream.
A private family interment will be held at Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside.
