Obituary

Harriett E. Simpson, age 85, a longtime resident of Wheaton, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She was born July 12, 1925 in Masardis, ME.

Miss Simpson worked for World Venture (formerly CBFMS) where she was an executive secretary for 38 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Wheaton for over 50 years where she had served as church clerk and also as a choir member for several years.

She is survived by her brother, Willard (Jean) Simpson; and two sisters, Dorothy Ropke and Sandra Lathrop; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends, including Elizabeth "Liz" Olson and her entire family whom she has known for more than 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Bertha (nee Adams) Simpson; her brothers, Hubert, Dana, Loren and Stuart Simpson; her sisters, Fern Faulk, and Caryl Simpson; brothers-in-law, Henry Ropke and Edwin "Junior" Lathrop; and nephew, Willard "Billy" Simpson.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 21, from 4-8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 22, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 1310 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
