Gunnar Gabriel Iversen died in his mother's arms at Central DuPage Hospital on May 20, 2024. He was born at 9:00pm and passed peacefully into the care of Jesus at 9:33pm. Gunnar was a handsome baby with Trisomy 18. Due to the specifics of his condition he was born at only 28 weeks weighing 1lb and 8.9oz. After unsuccessful attempts at resuscitation, his final heartbeats were in the arms of his mother and the hands of his father.

Gunnar is the son of Andrew and Kathryn Iversen (Wheaton, IL). He is survived by his three siblings: Grace, Owen, and Emmett, all at home. His grandparents are Gary Iversen (Waterloo, IA), Amy Carmack (Morris, IL), and Floyd Lee (Fort Worth, TX). He also has many beloved Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Marilyn Lee (Fort Worth, TX), his Uncle Bryan Lee (Lewisville, TX), and his cousin Lucas Iversen (Waterloo, IA).

His family extends their deep gratitude for the many who have walked with them in this journey through prayer, providing meals, and many other practical and emotional supports. Gunnar's life, though short, was marked by love and covered in prayer; his time in the womb was filled with the sounds of love from his siblings, worship with his family, and the truth of Scripture. We are deeply grieved by his loss but look forward to seeing him again in the resurrection.
