Obituary

Grigoriy Fedotovich Spisovskiy, 85, passed away on January 17, 2013 at CDH hospital in Winfield IL. He was born on April 14th 1927 to Fedot and Katerina Spisovskiy near Kiev Ukraine.

Grigoriy grew up in Protsev, Ukraine. He graduated from a local school and went to Kiev Technical College for his Mechanical Bachelor Degree. After College, he went to the Army for four years and worked as a coal miner in Donbass, Ukraine.

After the Army he was sent to Khabarovsk, Russia to work as a teacher in the local college. He met his future wife there, Nina Asutina, and they got married in 1958. After they had their first child they moved to Chernigov, Ukraine and he started to work as a pastor of a local Baptist church; and later as a main pastor for the whole region, a position he held for 17 years. Soon two more children were born to them in Chernigov.

In 1992 he moved to the USA with his wife Nina and his daughter's family. While living in Boston Grigoriy lost his wife Nina in 2006 due to prolonged illness. They were happily married for 49 years. In 2009, after living in Boston, MA for 17 years they moved to Chicago, IL to join his son's family.

Grigoriy is remembered as a person who loved God and his Word deeply. He also loved his family, living an exemplary life until the end. He left an unforgettable spiritual heritage as a husband and father to his children. He will surely be remembered by many, those close to him and those impacted by the ministry of his life.
