Grace Huitsing, 98, peacefully entered the Lord's presence on October 11, 2019. Born in Oak Park, IL, she attended Chicago Christian High School, Calvin College, the University of Michigan, and the University of Illinois. An educator all her life, Grace taught at Illiana Christian HS, Grand Rapids Christian HS, received a Fulbright Scholarship to teach at the Christelijk Lyceum in Hilversum, Netherlands, and was a professor of English at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL for 19 years. For 11 summers she served on a volunteer teaching team with the English Language Institute in China. After retirement, she became an active member of the Wheaton Christian Reformed Church and continued to volunteer as an ESL teacher. She is survived by many nephews, nieces, great and great-great nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Hoekenga Seven, and brother, Jay Huitsing.

Visitation will be at Hultgren Funeral Home , 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL, Friday, October 18, 2019, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 19, 2019, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Wheaton Christian Reformed Church , 711 E. Harrison Ave., Wheaton, IL, followed by a 10:30 funeral service at the church. The committal ceremony will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West , Oak Brook Terrace, IL.
