Grace S. Faulkner, age 93, a resident of the Holmstad in Batavia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 1, 2009 at home. She was born January 28, 1915 in Richview, Illinois.

Grace grew up in Champaign, IL where she graduated from college at the University of Illinois-Champaign in 1936 with a Bachelor's degree in Science and Home Economics. She met and married Jack Faulkner in 1938 in Champaign, IL. She was a teacher for many years and taught at Wheaton College, and in the West Chicago school district. Her faith was important to her and she was always involved in her local church including Bethany Chapel in Wheaton, IL, Lone Star Bible Church in Eureka Springs, AR, and Warrenville Bible Chapel in Warrenville, IL.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Jack; her five children, Michael (Caryne) Faulkner of Oswego, IL, Robin (Fred) Mahnesmith of Buda, IL, Peter (Suzanne) Faulkner of Delavan, IL, Barbara Guthrie of South Elgin, IL, Kathryn Daniels of Downers Grove, IL; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Kathryn Faulkner of Hermitage, TN; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernie and James Shanks.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of a memorial service to be held at 11:00 A.M. at Warrenville Bible Chapel, 4S157 Curtis Ave, in Warrenville. Interment is private.
