Grace Clouston, age 107, a longtime resident of Wheaton, died at home at Brighton Gardens on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. She was born on February 3, 1903 in Chicago to Theodore John Markmann and Ellen (Nellie) Wenthe.
Grace grew up in Chicago and married Walter Clouston on November 25, 1922. She moved to Wheaton in 1939 and worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Gary Wheaton Bank and was a member of the Department Club and the Gad-a-bouts.
She loved to travel and took trips to Spain, Hawaii, Mexico and enjoyed spending winters in Florida.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty (Jack) Greer of AZ, her grandchildren, Russell (Cathy) Greer of CA, Gale Greer of Washington, Allen (Karen) Carlson of Wheaton and Linda Carlson (Ted) Witte of Wheaton, 6 great-grandchildren, Kirstyn and Erik Carlson, Shelby (Matt) Lidstrom, Spencer Myers, and Carly and Jenna Greer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Clouston, and one daughter, Shirley (Richard A.) Carlson.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 6 at 11:00 A.M.
Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
