Gordon Spencer Johnson, age 79, a resident of Wheaton, died Wednesday, April 29 at DuPage Convalescent Center. He was born November 22, 1929 in Wheaton to John and Ada Johnson.

He graduated from Harper High School in Chicago in 1947. He married Lorraine Riesert at St. Brendan Catholic Church located at 69th & Racine in 1951. He worked for Red Carpet Real Estate for many years. Gordon liked to travel and went on several cruises. He enjoyed golfing. He also was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.

He is survived by his son, Gordon M. (Anne) of Elmhurst, IL; and a daughter, Barbara L. Johnson of Wheaton, IL; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob (Ann) Johnson, and Chuck (Claire) Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lorraine; three brothers, Herb, Ray and Paul; and a sister, Harriet Johnson.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 3, from 3 - 8 PM at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Prayers will begin at 9:15 AM Monday, May 4, proceeding to St. Mark Catholic Church for a 10:00 AM Mass. Interment to follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
