Obituary

Gonzalo "Papa Pino" Pinedo, age 94, a 20 year resident of West Chicago, and formerly a 38 year resident of Wheaton, went home to be with the Lord peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 30.  He was born December 10, 1925 in Villa Guerrero, Jalisco, Mexico.

In 1947, he married Rebeca "Mama Beca" Pinedo.  After the birth of their fifth child, this young family came to the US where he came to work as a migrant worker.  He was strong and determined to overcome much adversity and many barriers while raising ten children.  He enjoyed the outdoors, maintaining his yard and working with his hands.  He especially loved family time, being with his children and grandchildren.  His favorite pastime was playing Dominoes. But his true dedication was to his faith and family that he so loved - all 5 generations!

He is survived by nine children, Victor (Kathy) Pinedo of Elgin, IL, Sylvia Chavez of Arizona, Maria Escamilla of Elmwood Park, IL, Roy Pinedo of Wheaton, IL, Carlos Pinedo of Geneva, IL, Bobby (Donna) Pinedo of Texas, Gloria Pinedo of West Chicago, IL, Ricky (Sarah) Pinedo of Cabot, AR and Christina (Pablo) Rodriquez of Elgin, IL, and many grandchildren, many more great-grandchildren, and more great-great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by 4 siblings, many in-laws, nieces and nephews.  His beautiful smile, great sense of humor and loving spirit will  be missed immensely and forever be in our hearts.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebeca "Mama Beca" Pinedo, son,  Michael Pinedo, daughter-in-law, Darci, and granddaughter, Emma Rose Pinedo.
