Gloria L. Soemo, age 90, a resident of Huntley, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022.  She was born August 25, 1931 and raised in Chicago by Arthur & Luella Plummer.

Gloria worked as a teacher at Chicago Christian Academy for many years,  and then continued teaching at Brentwood Christian Academy in Mt Prospect for several more years.  One of her favorite past times was preparing for the ladies' Bible study.  She dearly loved visits from, and doing activities with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons Michael, David (Marie), Wayne (Barbara), and Joel; daughter Carol (Tim) Werner; 8 grandchildren: Thomas, Andrew, Bryan, Alan, Angela, Andrea, Alisha, and Ashlea; and 17 great grandchildren: Rhese, Paden, Grady, Harper, Arianna, Deakin, Brynnae, Carter, Raylie, Mya, Briella, Chad, Paul, Vivian, Lydia, Samantha and Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Howard, who died in 2014.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Marengo First Assembly of God, 22817 W. Grant Hwy, Marengo, IL 60152, followed by a service at 10:30  a.m. Private interment will be at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL.

One of Gloria's favorite missions was International Teen Challenge, especially the Nigerian Teen Challenge.  In lieu of flowers, for those who would like to give a memorial gift may direct their gifts through Marengo First Assembly of God.
