Gloria "Jean" Carver Grimes, of Wheaton, Illinois, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on October 14, 2020 at age 94.  Jean grew up in Michigan Center, Michigan and was the middle child of 8 children. She married her high school sweetheart, Donald Grimes, and then graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois.  In her early married years, she was a pastor's wife and took care of her four children, while serving in many churches from the northwoods of Minnesota, the hills of West Virginia, and in central Illinois. Her husband made a career change and moved the family to California. Once there, Jean enjoyed a new career too, as a Medical Assistant for surgeons. After retirement, Don and Jean moved back to Michigan and were avid travelers, and visited family often. Her passion was her family--she loved playing games with them and having one-on-one time with her grandchildren. Jean was creative in sewing and music and tending to the flowers in her garden. She had a strong faith in the Lord, and led by example.

Jean was preceded in death by her son, David.  She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Donald Elwood Grimes, her children, Don (Sue) Grimes, Debbi (Jim) Luedtke, and Denise (Tom) Gill, 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Her family adored her and will miss her greatly. A memorial service will be held privately at a later date.
