Gloria Araujo, age 64, a resident of Naperville, IL, and formerly of Wheaton, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at home surrounded by her family.  She was born October 9, 1958, in San Antonio, Texas.

She was a very strong follower of Christ throughout her life. Spending over 20 years serving at First Baptist Church of Wheaton, where she ran the Spanish ministry and also translated the pastor's sermons. Gloria loved to help people on a daily basis. She was always one call away to help someone get an apartment, find their way through our government system, buy food for their families or get rides to the doctor's office. She was a very popular lady throughout the Chicagoland area, and nothing brought her more joy than serving people in need.

Gloria Araujo was a nurse for most of her life. She mainly worked at Wyndemere Senior Living and that's what set her family's eyes on the beautiful city of Wheaton, IL. Gloria's main hobbies were walking around Northside Park, going to her son Nikko's basketball games, cooking dinner for guests, and doing anything that involved the Church.

Gloria Araujo was a wonderful mother/grandmother. She had a total of 5 children and 19 grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Pablo Araujo, her children, Nikko Araujo, Peter Valez and Gloria Torres.

She is also survived by her siblings, Anna Crespo, Len Villarreal, Julia Foust, Chris Villarreal, Sylvia Villarreal, and Iris Fuentes.

She was predeceased by her mother Maria Ruiz, her daughters Shanti Villarreal, Linda Valez and her sister Rosa Rosario.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 3:00 pm at Highpoint Church - Wheaton, 1310 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187.
