Glenys Orr, age 78, a resident of Wheaton, Illinois, died on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Tabor Hills Health Care Facility in Naperville, Illinois. She was born July 3, 1945 in Chile.

Glenys grew up in Chile, Bolivia and Argentina as a Missionary child. She attended nursing school in New Zealand and came to the United States in her early 20's to live with her older brother Ian and his family and pursue her nursing career. She was an emergency room nurse at Central DuPage hospital for many years. Glenys had many wonderful friends and was passionate about sharing the love of Jesus with everyone she knew. She hosted many bible studies and tea parties for friends and children in her neighborhood. She was an active member of the Lombard Gospel Chapel for 20 years and later attended Bethany Chapel and Wheaton Bible Church. She loved music and playing the piano. Glenys always loved to laugh and tell funny stories. She had a very kind heart and a gentle smile.

She is survived by her son, Dan (Meghan) Orr, and their three children Isaac, Lily, and Johnny of Houston, Texas. Her brother Ian (Shirley) Smith of Chicago, IL. Her sister Ruth (Lewis) Hale and her brother in law Roley Rackley of New Zealand.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley. Her sister, Elizabeth Rackley. Her dad and mom, Allan and Elizabeth Smith.

A memorial service for Glenys will be held on November 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Avenue, West Chicago, IL 60185
