Gladys L. Zuidema, age 98, a resident of The Meadows in Glen Ellyn, formerly a longtime resident of Wheaton, died Monday, March 23, 2015, at home. She was born November 17, 1916 in Danforth, Illinois to Timothy and Gertrude Bensema.

She married Henry Arthur Zuidema on May 29, 1942. Gladys worked at Lucent Technologies as a secretary for many years. She was a member of Wheaton Christian Reformed Church, where she sang in the choir and took pride in creating a puzzle in the bulletin for the children. She served as the secretary for STRAT.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Cornelia) Zuidema of Tacoma, WA and Barbara (Philip) Special of Taylor, AZ, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1955 and eleven siblings and their spouses.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Wheaton Christian Reformed Church, 711 E Harrison Ave, Wheaton, IL 60187.
