Gladys Short, age 92, a resident of Carol Stream, IL, died August 10, 2021, at Johnson Health Care Center in Carol Stream, IL. She was born September 30, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois.

Gladys and her beloved husband James had many hobbies together and were inseparable. Their two most notable hobbies were being avid Chicago Blackhawks fans and golf.

At just about any home game the couple could be found in box seats cheering on the Blackhawks who they knew by name. There was no need to lookup any statistics about the team or individual players, because Gladys could tell you exactly what you wanted to know.

Gladys and James were also very passionate about golf. As a couple they traveled the country playing at courses all over the country. The number of courses they played was in the hundreds, even in their later years still teeing off.

She is survived by her nephews, Jerry Burisek, Jim and Tim Boubelik, nieces Sandy Sever, and Sharon Zaramba.

Gladys is preceded in death by her husband James, nephews Hank Boubelik, John Burk, brothers and sisters in law Milton and Betty Burisek, Hank and Mabel Boubelik, and Ruby and Harold Weisenstiner.

Interment will take place privately at Forest Home Cemetery.
