IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ginny
Perciante
February 23, 1945 – May 16, 2023
Virginia Ruth Perciante (nee Thompson) joined her Savior in heaven on May 16, 2023. Born to Dr. Howard and Ruth Stellman Thompson on February 23, 1945 in Floral Park, New York, Ginny had a wonderful childhood growing up in New York and New Jersey.
She graduated from Tenafly High School, NJ in 1962 and Wheaton College, IL in 1966 where she fell in love with Terry Perciante. Married in 1967 at the Northern Valley Evangelical Free Church in Cresskill, NJ, Terry and Ginny returned to Wheaton in 1972 after advanced degrees from SUNY at Buffalo.
During her years in Buffalo, Ginny taught elementary grades in the Williamsville, NY school district. Her Masters degree in the diagnosis and remediation of children's reading difficulties subsequently allowed her to help reading-challenged children back in Illinois.
The Perciantes were members of the former Wheaton Evangelical Free Church for over 45 years where Ginny served diligently as a deaconess. She loved animals, knitting, puzzles and word games, family trips, and working on family histories. She was an habitually organized homemaker in all of the myriad family details that she managed.
Ginny's top desire was always to be a Godly wife, mother, and Nana. Blessed with 2 children, Julianne (Jason) Sennese, of IL and Craig (Valerie) Perciante of CO, Ginny was a Nana to 7 grandchildren: Jared, Kayla, & Tyler Sennese; Ethan, Carter, Abigail, & Shane Perciante, as well as an aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Beryl.
Ginny lived her life so as to express the truth of Philippians 1:21, "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
