Geraldine "Geri" May Pugsley (née Shepard) passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024, in Wheaton, Illinois, at the age of 89. She was born on December 1, 1934, in Elgin, Illinois, to the late Benjamin and Helen Shepard.
Geri was a loving and caring friend to everyone she met, always putting others before herself. She adored spending time with young children and was known for her selfless nature. Geri's kind and compassionate spirit touched the lives of many.
Geri attended Elgin High School and later pursued a career in nursing. It was during nursing school that she met her future husband, Bob. She also became a certified medical transcription specialist, showcasing her dedication to the healthcare field.
Geri enjoyed painting, working on puzzles, playing cards, and cherishing moments with her numerous friends. Her hobbies reflected her creative and sociable nature.
Geri is survived by her children: David Pugsley of Wheaton, Illinois; Steven Pugsley and wife Kathryn of Maui, Hawaii; Janet Luedtke of Glendale Heights, Illinois; Jonathan Pugsley and wife Stephanie of Glen Ellyn, Illinois. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jacob Upwell, Benjamin Luedtke, Robert Pugsley, Daniel Pugsley, Rebecca Hoffer, Brian Luedtke, Joshua Luedtke, Shannon Pugsley, and Joseph Luedtke, as well as her great-grandchildren, Payton Luedtke and McKenzie Luedtke.
Geri was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L. Pugsley, her parents Benjamin and Helen Shepard, and her sister Leona Grage (Larry).
A celebration of Geri's life will be held on April 27, 2024 at the Wyndemere Senior Living Auditorium, 200 Wyndemere Circle, Wheaton, Illinois 60187, at 1:30 pm, with visitation to follow. The service will be livestreamed through this link: Celebration of Life for Geri Pugsley beginning at 1:30 p.m. CDT. The Hultgren Funeral Home in Wheaton, Illinois, is assisting with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Cure PSP ( http://www.psp.org/ ) or the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans ( https://www.helpaveteran.org/) in Wheaton, IL, in memory of Geri Pugsley.
Geri will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
