George W. Waller's Obituary

George W. Waller, 93, passed away October 19,2020 at Holy Cross Hospital after a brief illness.

He was a life-long resident of Chicago, most recently residing at Heritage Woods of Chicago. George was born on November 6, 1926 in Chicago to Charles and Esther Waller.  He grew up in Elmwood Park, graduated from Lane Tech High School, and went on to study at Wright Jr. College before entering the Army during World War ll.

George was a veteran who served his country in the Army Air Corps. It was during his time in the military that he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. After the war ended, George went on to work as a mechanical designer in the Chicago area.

George was friendly, kind, and care-free. He lived simply. He loved God, family, travel, coffee, and airplanes.  Owning and flying his plane with his brother Chuck, was his passion, as was visiting friends in California.

He is survived by his younger brother Winston and his nieces and nephews, Sharon (Mike)Bertsche, Sandra Waller, Sue (Tony) Mallas, Dave (Michelle) Waller, and Wayne (Kay) Waller. He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Charles Waller and sister-in-laws Eunice Waller and Gertrude (Trudy) Waller.

A private burial will be held at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois.
