Slivinski
February 28, 1924 – July 4, 2020
George P. Slivinski, age 96, a resident of Three Lakes, WI, died July 4, 2020. He was born February 28, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois to Peter Slivinski & Mary Sekal.
He grew up in the Lawndale neighborhood of Chicago. He graduated from Crane Tech High School and served in the Army during World War II. He met his wife Alice at a family & friend outing at Mueller Lake, Wisconsin and the two were married on August 3, 1946 which was exactly seven years after the day they met. After the birth of their daughter, Donna, George and Alice moved their family to Winfield from Chicago. George and Alice were faithful members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Winfield and also St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Three Lakes, Wisconsin. George was a Boy Scout Troop 27 (Winfield) leader and was a Commander of the American Legion Post #300 in West Chicago. He was employed by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors in LaGrange and retired at age 53 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and abroad. He was a hunting, fishing and card playing enthusiast. George was always very resourceful and was a jack-of-all trades. He built multiple family homes (and fixed everything within those homes) including his home in Three Lakes, Wisconsin where he spent his last years.
He is survived by his children Alan (Maureen), Catherine (Stan) Hayduk, Mark (Christine), Donna (Ernie) Siefert, Dan & Robert (Carolyn); and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife Alice, nee Spak; his son George A. (Marsha); and his sister Angeline Sass.
A private funeral mass was held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Winfield. Entombment at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
