George W. Seaman, age 90, a resident of Wheaton, Illinois and formerly of Framingham, MA, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at home. He was born May 29, 1931 in Springfield, Massachusetts to William and Kathleen Seaman.

George grew up in Saxonville and graduated from Framingham High School. In 1952, he joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea. He returned to Framingham where he worked in various jobs. He met Doris Purcell at church and they were married in October of 1961. He began his career as a firefighter in 1962. He worked on the Framingham Fire Department until he retired.

He had his private pilot license and he enjoyed flying whenever he could. He vacationed every year in Cape Cod where he enjoyed fishing, boating and seafood. In recent years, they moved to Wheaton, IL, where he was an usher at College Church and also enjoyed bowling.

He is survived by his wife Doris; his children, Karen (Steve) Uhlig of Westminster, MD and Mark (Kristin) Seaman of Glen Ellyn and nine grandchildren, Meghan (David) Albright, Luke Young, Patrick (Abbie) Young, Blake Young, Timothy Young, Zachary Seaman, Katherine Seaman, Emma Seaman, and Olivia Seaman. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, William Seaman.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 3, from 4:00 until 8:00 at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187 where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m.. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
