Glen Ellyn

Obituary

George Loconsole, age 63, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. He was born December 2, 1962 in Evergreen Park, IL to Joseph & Catherine Loconsole.

George grew up in Oak Park. He graduated from Oak Park River Forest H.S. & attended George Williams College of Wisconsin, as well as University of Chicago earning his Bachelors degree in Health Science & Kinetics. George went on to become certified in CPR, massage therapy specializing in sports injuries.

In his younger years, he was surrounded by 7 siblings & a number of family dogs. Always a loud & raucous household. We all have many fond memories, including his sisters loving to dress him up like a doll. He was so good natured, always going along with it & loving the attention. Halloween was such a gas with him dressing up as different characters & goofing around to entertain us.

George was incredibly driven in the pursuit of his passion for life & helping others. These were combined & reflected in his love of health and fitness, which he later turned into a lucrative career in personal training. His business Keep Fit was his pride and joy. He truly practiced what he preached, worked out daily and ate healthy all the time. He never drank or smoked. His motto was: “your body is your temple".

Thru out his career he trained many people of all ages, but drew a large clientele of couples wanting to achieve a certain look for their special day. He advertised “Wedding Ready” workouts & had Biggest Loser Contests. These promotions eventually got him a radio spot as a guest, where he spoke of his passion & acquired a broader clientele.

George was actively involved in many sports, especially baseball. He was a diehard Cub fan as well as a dance enthusiast & had such an engaging personality. Everybody loved him.

While the entire family will deeply mourn the loss of George, his twin sister Patricia will miss him dearly. Patricia & George were inseparable as kids, & she went on to be his biggest fan & confidant as they grew from teens to adult years. She rarely missed a baseball game of his & was there to cheer him on to victory & celebrate his business successes.

George was truly a gentle & generous soul, with a heart of gold. He loved fiercely- especially his mom whom he was devoted to, as well as his family and a very special golden retriever named Sonny.

He is survived by his siblings: John Loconsole, Kathy (Dave) Jakopac, Maureen (John) O'Malley, James (Mary) Loconsole & Patricia Loconsole; his sisters-in-law Susan Loconsole & Maripat (Mike) Malloy; and many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Michael & Joseph Loconsole.
