George R. Holan, age 81, a resident of Tabor Hills Retirement Community in Naperville, and formerly a resident of Richmond, IL, died Tuesday, September 23. He was born on July 5, 1927 in Chicago to George and Elsie Holan.

He was a veteran of the US Army and served with distinction in the Philippines. He graduated from Iowa State University with a degee in teaching. He worked as a teacher in Iowa and Venezuela and traveled throughout South America. Most of his adult life he worked as an Automobile Salesman in the Chicago area.

George is survived by his brother, Gerald (Rose) Holan of Carol Stream. He is the uncle of Gerald Jr., Jeff and Anna Snider.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave., in West Chicago, where a service will be held at 11:00. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
