George Carcalean, age 92, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. He was born June 25, 1922 in Moldova-Noua, Romania.

He is survived by his daughter, Doriana (Steve) Dan of Wheaton, IL; four grandchildren, Edwin (Michele) Carcalean, Audriana (David) Anderson, Ruth (Greg) Walstra, and Lori (Scott) Waldron; three great-grandchildren, Danica Walstra, Nicole Anderson and Luke Waldron; his daughter-in-law, Christina Carcalean; two sisters, Lidia and Fibia; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Maria; his son, George Carcalean, Jr; his brother, Dumitru; and his sisters, Maria and Amalia.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.
