George William Barville, age 86, passed away August 21, 2016 at The Holmstad in Batavia. He was born July 24, 1930 in Maracaibo, Venezuela to missionary parents, George Charles and Edith Peterson Barville.
Over his lifetime he continued to visit and support missionaries in many countries, as well as hosting them in his home. George had a beautiful tenor voice and sang in the church choirs of the various locations that he and Norma lived.
He was a retired captain with American Airlines and flew with them for 22 years, taking early retirement in 1987.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, George and Edith, his sister, Christine Redman, and his grandson, Jake Barville. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma (nee Rognes), children Jan (Steve ) Toms, Diane (Ed) Bruere, Daniel (Leeann), and Joan (Bobby) Taruc, grandchildren Samantha & Blaire Toms, Forrest, Adam (Emily) & Maxwell Bruere, Wade Barville, and his brother, David (Penny).
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at 2pm on September 24, 2016 in the Auditorium at The Holmstad in Batavia.
