Genevieve M. O'Brien, nee Novotny, age 92, a resident of Olney IL and former resident of Barrington IL, Omaha NE and Wheaton IL, went to be with the Lord on June 23, 2019 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney IL.  She was born on June 8, 1927 in Des Plaines IL to Thomas and Victoria Novotny.

She is survived by three daughters: Janine (Michael) Bridges of Dundas IL, Jeanne (Ric) Spiess of Warrenville IL, and Janice (Robert Jr.) Coopman of Plano TX; six grandchildren, Brandon (Michelle) Bridges, Shannon (Dr. Izaak) Neveln, Sarah and Rachel Poe, Michael and Steven Coopman; and three great-grandchildren, Connor Elliott, and Natalie.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband John J. O'Brien III in 2012, two sisters and four brothers.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 1:00 to 2:00p.m. At Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Wheaton IL with a memorial concluding at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Wheaton IL.

Genevieve, affectionately known as Gen, Jenny, Jenners, Oma and Grandma O, loved life and spending time with her family.  Generously sharing her fun sense of humor and striving to learn and share a multitude of hobbies, she was Publicity Chairwoman of the Omaha Rose Society and Picture Lady at Elmhurst's Madison Street Elementary School.  Music, dancing, flower arranging, and drawing were her passions.  She was a classic movie buff and was delighted to meet Bob Hope, Richard Dwyer, and the Cisco Kid. Jenny had often traveled with her husband, accompanying him on business trips throughout the United States, Europe, Mexico, and the Caribbean.  She had a special place in her heart for her three beloved dogs over the years, Cappy, Daisy and Cindy.
