Gary Wolff, 84, was born September 13, 1938 in Atchison, Kansas.  He was an Air Force veteran having been stationed in Alaska with the military police from 1956 to 1958.   Subsequently, he graduated from Clark's Business School in 1958. He eventually worked 37 years with the State of Kansas as the property control officer at the Topeka State Hospital, retiring in 1997.  He was a member of Faith Evangelical Covenant Church in Wheaton, Illinois.

Gary had an extremely tender heart that was nowhere better reflected than in his compassion towards animals.  He was never without an active hobby and was an avid collector extraordinaire. Hobbies included fishing, pinball, crafts of every sort, stamps, coins, guns, knives, rocks and even cacti. He became a writer in his early 70s with themes of kindness and integrity and underdogs overcoming injustice. He loved to secretly include himself as one of the characters.

All who knew him knew that he had a great sense of humor, often at his own expense.  He was a reliable man of integrity.  While a churchman for most of his life, it was not until he was in his 60's that he really opened his heart to Jesus and began to deepen his love for Christ.  He became more and more gentle and humble over the last decades of his life and was a joy to be around.

Gary is survived by his wife, Judy, of 63 years, sons Christian Wolff and Richard Wolff (Ann) and grandchildren Alexander, Aaron, Ron, and Rachel.

Funeral Services will be held at Faith Evangelical Covenant in Wheaton, Illinois at 2001 Lakeview Drive on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.  Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral services at 11 a.m.  His pastor, Nate Hickox will preside.
