Obituary

Asleep in Jesus, Frieda (Fritzi) J. Williams, nee Knoerschild, age 94, a resident of Wheaton and died Monday, January 17, 2005 at the Wynscape Nursing Center in Wheaton. She was born on January 19, 1910 in St. Charles County, Missouri to Oscar and Anna Knoernschild. After attending schools in Harvester, MO, and St. Louis, MO, she attended Brown Business College. She worked several years in clerical and sales until getting a position in the Civil Service with the U. S. Army, retiring in 1971 with twenty years of service.

After retirement she and her husband traveled extensively within the United States. She was a member of several senior groups in High Ridge and Valley park, MO. After moving to Wheaton, IL she kept busy in the many activities at the Wyndemere Retirement Community. She also was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church senior J.O.Y. Group.

Frieda is survived by one son, Richard (Loraine) Williams of Wheaton, two grandchildren, Patricia (Jeffrey) Hurlbut and Steven (Ofelia) Williams, two great-grandsons,m Michael and Ian Hurlbut, her brothers Leonard and Kenneth Knoernschild and a sister Stella Davis, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Williams, her parents, sisters, Erna Knoernschild, Thekla Knoernschild and Cordula Duerbeck.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 19, from 3 to 8 P.M. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the St. John Lutheran Church, Main and Seminary St. in Wheaton with visitation one hour prior to service. Further services and interment will be held at Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, Augusta, Missouri.
