Frederick R. "Fred" Wells, age 68, a resident of Gilbert, Arizona, formerly a long-time resident of Wheaton, Illinois, passed away, peacefully at home and was welcomed in the arms of Jesus, on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, surrounded by his family after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born January 4, 1953 in Chicago.

Fred was employed for 20 years with Pasquesi Home & Gardens in Lake Bluff, Illinois, as store manager. He spent his earlier career, also as a store manager, working for Dominick's Finer Foods throughout the Chicagoland area. During this time, he earned his MBA from Lewis University. Fred will be remembered for leading and mentoring those throughout his lifetime, with his witty humor and passion for business.

Fred and Mary were together for 48 beautiful years and loved spending their time taking trips, going out to eat, and just being together. He was an avid reader, a monster guru, a magician at heart, a true Chicago sports fan, and a loving "Papa" to his grandbabies. He loved the Lord and there is no doubt Jesus has proclaimed to him, "Well-done good, and faithful servant!"

Fred was the beloved husband of Linda Mary, loving Dad of Christine (boyfriend Kim Smith) and Sarah (Nick) Williams, adored Papa of Brady (age 9), Mila (age 7), and Giada (age 4), caring son to his mom, Frances Wells, always bringing her dinner, dear brother of Michael Wells, Tom (Debbie) Wells, Laura Wells, and Judy Wells, also a loved nephew, cousin, uncle, great uncle, and friend of many. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Wells, Sr.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 20th from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton , where a service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Private interment will be held at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.

Memorial gifts may be directed to Samaritan's Purse , an organization that provides aid to people in physical need as a key part of its Christian missionary work. Fred loved giving to others and had a heart for those in need.
