Fred L. Godar, of Wheaton, IL, passed peacefully in his sleep on June 30, 2026, at the age of 89. He was born in Hardin, IL, on March 11, 1937, to Edmund Godar and Cora Godar (née Carpenter).

Fred loved his family, friends, faith, church, and the Chicago Cubs. Fred adored working for the Wheaton School District. He was a jokester and loved to make people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, John E. Godar (Ted) and James V. Godar; and his sister, Elizabeth M. Godar.

Services will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home in Wheaton, IL, on Thursday, July 2, 2026. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the funeral service starting promptly at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be conducted privately at Hardin City Cemetery.
