Frank J. Whitney, age 78, died peacefully with loved ones on July 24, 2019, in St. Charles, Illinois. He was born December 1, 1940 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to John and Marie Whitney.

Raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Frank was truly a man who loved God through creation. Taught to live off the land and care for nature, he was a proficient fisherman, hunter (both rifle and bow) and gardener. He moved to Chicago, attended DeVry to become an electrician, but decided to pursue his yearning as an over-the-road semi-truck driver. Frank's daughters, grandchildren and later, love of his life, Goldie Bridges, were his world! Frank had a strong affection for wrestling, football, ice cream and chocolate. His fondness for nature has become an heirloom for his daughters and grandchildren.

He is survived by his companion, Goldie Bridges; his daughters Desiree (Johnny) Bruce and Michaelene (Glenn) Hayward; his grandchildren Antoinette (Filip) Kaevski, Malina Clemans, Drake Hayward, Brooke Hayward & Grace Hayward; and one great-grandson Luca Kaevski.

Preceded in death by his brother Jack (Lucille) Whitney and his parents.

A visitation will be held Monday, July 29, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, Illinois. Relatives and friends are invited to meet directly at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2900 E. Main St., St. Charles, Illinois, on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, where a final visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.
