Frank E. Weaver, age 94, a resident of Bolingbrook, and formerly of Wheaton, IL and also of Winter Haven, FL, died Thursday, January 1, 2009, at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital in Bolingbrook, IL. He was born October 12, 1914 in Tamaroa, IL.
Frank was a World War II veteran, a member of the Gary United Methodist Church, and part-owner of the Naperville Sports Store. He was a lifetime member of the Wheaton VFW Post 2164, and an member emeritus of a Masonic Lodge from Winter Haven, FL. He was an avid sports enthusiast and especially loved fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his two children, Pamela (Ken Gaston) Kahler of Bolingbrook, and Patricia Mossenicas of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren, Theresa (John) Ferguson, Lisa (Matthew) Doman, and Bryan Kahler, and Cheri (William) Letts, Carla Helm, Daniel (Jody) Helm, and Susan Helm; ten great-grandchildren; his half-sister, Lois Kelly of Coral Gables, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Winifred; two children, Frank, Jr., and Penelope Lynn; his half-sister, Gwen Hodges; and his son-in-law, Ray Mossenicas.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009, at Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
