Obituary

Frank A. Gustafson, age 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2014, in Wheaton, IL. He was born January 14, 1927 in Chicago, IL. to the late Frank and Pearl (nee Doetsch) Gustafson.

Gus, as he was known to all his friends and family, was a proud Navy Veteran of World War II, serving aboard the USS- LCSL-100 as a signalman and gunner in the Pacific theater.

After the war, Gus went into the lithographic field running four-color machines as press foreman, supervisor and plant manager. Gus's passion was carpentry and with his talent, built his homes in both Villa Park and Wheaton, IL. After Gus's wife passed, he moved to Wyndemere where he made many new friends and enjoyed his new lifestyle.

He is survived by his two children, Jacqueline (Scott) Davis of Glen Ellyn, IL, and Steve Gustafson of Portland, OR; his grandchildren, Heather (Julie) and Chris; two sisters, Geraldine (late Lefty) Wunderle and Carol Lee; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Eileen, (nee Smith).

Services and interment will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery .
