Francis "Happy" Higgins, age 101, a long time resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, IL, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Windsor's Johnson Health Care Center. He was born November 9, 1913 in Chicago, IL.

Happy loved to sing and did so at every opportunity. From a young age, he loved to help people - from driving the elderly, to ministering at church, and working with youth. He was a great encourager to all. His strong faith in Christ was always evident.

He is survived by his children, James (Becky) Higgins, and Mildred (the late Warren) Parrent; his grandchildren, Tammy (Glenn) Sogge, and Samantha (Jim) Kosik; four great-grandchildren, Stewart, and Kristian Sogge, Derek Eageny and Randi Kosik; and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Alice; his siblings, Thomas, Edward, Mildred and Charles.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. until the start of a funeral service to be held at 10:30 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. Interment will follow at Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park, IL.
