Frances Genevieve Webb, age 97, a resident of Naperville and formerly of Wheaton, died Thursday, February 2 at Tabor Hills Care Center. She was born on November 26, 1908 in Peoria, IL to Gustav and Hazel McVay.
Frances worked as a proof reader for Law books and for the Chicago Sun Times. She was a longtime member of the Typographical Union. For over 40 years she and her husband owned Webb Recording Company on Dearborn St. in Chicago until retiring in 1987. Together they volunteered for Pacific Garden Mission, working on the "Unshackled" radio program for over 55 years. She was also a member of the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Edwin M. Webb, one son, Ladd J. (Mary Ann) Parsons of Cleveland, OH, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her patents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St, Wheaton, where a funeral service will follow at 4 pm. Interment will be held in private at Phelps Cemetery, in Phelps, Wisconsin.
