Foster J. Rooks, a devoted family man, hard worker, and faithful servant, born May 18 1946 passed away August 29 2026 leaving behind a legacy of steadfast faith, love and quiet kindness.
Foster lived his life as a true God fearing and servant-hearted leader, choosing to show his deep devotion to his family and community through actions. He possessed a rare, gentle nature that left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Always kind and consistently dependable, he approached life with a strong work ethic and an unwavering faith that anchored him through all of life's seasons.
Foster loved the outdoors, hunting and sports. He found great joy in the beauty of nature and the fellowship of playing and coaching baseball. His passion for life was simple, pure, and deeply rooted in the things that mattered most.
Foster was a general contractor and decorator. He loved working with his hands and creating spaces for his client’s visions.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his beloved son, Joseph Rooks.
Foster is survived by his loving wife, Edythe, who stood by his side through a lifetime of shared memories. He is also survived by his children, Bryan (Susan), Jayne, & Bethany; his daughter-in-law Rachel; and grandchildren: Sarah, Matthew, Jeremiah, Ronnie, Foster, Keenan, Tyrese, Arden, Declan, & Emery who will continue to honor his legacy of hard work, kindness, and steadfast faith.
A visitation will be held at Wheaton Christian Reformed Church, 711 E Harrison Ave, Wheaton, IL 60187, on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 Noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Outreach, 373 S. Schmale Rd., Carol Stream, IL 60188 or Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 433 S. Carlton Ave, Wheaton, IL 60187.
