Obituary

Floyd H. Johnson, age 84, a resident of Wheaton, IL, and formerly of Winfield, IL, died Monday, January 13, 2014, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. He was born March 8, 1929 in Ladysmith, WI.

Floyd grew up in Exeland, WI. He joined the Air Force and served during the Korean War. After the Air Force, he returned to WI where he continued to work on the family farm. On June 25, 1966, he married his beloved wife June Pearson. In 1968, they adopted their daughter Lori Ann. They eventually sold the farm and moved to Winfield where he enjoyed working for the phone company (Ameritech) as a Building Engineer for 20 years. His faith in Christ was the most important thing in his life and God gave him a passion to care for others. He dearly loved his family especially his two grandsons. Floyd could always be found with a big smile on his face and ready to fix something. He was greatly loved by all who knew him. He attended First Baptist Church of Wheaton.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, June; his daughter, Lori (Tony) Atkins of Wheaton; grandsons, Connor Atkins and Carson Atkins; and his brother, Roy Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albin and Hildur Johnson; his sisters, Marie Swink, and Elin Saul; his brothers, Ted Johnson, Bernard Johnson, Carl Johnson, and Ernest Johnson.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Wheaton, 1310 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187. Interment will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
