Faye Street, age 87, a resident of Naperville, IL, died peacefully at Edward Hospital on January 30, 2014. She was born September 2, 1926 to George and Ruby Terry in Royal Oak, MI, the sixth of seven children.
When she was 17 years old, a friend invited her to a small Baptist church service, where she learned she could have eternal life by trusting Jesus. She gave her heart to Him and joyfully followed Jesus Christ the rest of her life.
She graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 1952, and in 1955 she married her college sweetheart, Paul Street. The Lord blessed them with two children, Sherry and Dave, and again years later when Sherry married Mike Dunning and Dave married Sherry Lathrop.
Three grandchildren enriched their lives, Peter and Mark Dunning and Ruth Street, adding a fourth when Mark married Joy Van De Werken. Faye was delighted to become a Great Grandmother to Bethany Grace Dunning.
Paul and Faye lived in Glendale Heights until 2008, when they moved to Naperville. Faye was a homemaker, and also worked as a secretary for several Christian organizations. She particularly enjoyed her 18 years working for Tyndale House Publishers.
Friends and family will always remember Faye for her generous spirit, sincere faith, loyal friendship, loving smile and her courage while battling cancer for several years.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Paul, and all her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. Faye is also survived by her sister May Downing of Clawson, Michigan, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
