Evelyn Mae Chaddock, age 94, a resident of Wheaton, Illinois, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Windsor's Johnson Health Care Center in Carol Stream, IL.

Evelyn was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on April 28, 1921 to August and Clara Miller (Zoschke). She was the oldest of five children. She had three sisters, Lillian Miller Wesner, Florence Miller and Sherrill Miller Wesner; and one brother, Edwin Miller. Edwin and Lillian predeceased her.

Evelyn's parents were fruit farmers and she learned an incredible work ethic from them. They also taught her about the Lord Jesus Christ, and her relationship with him was her source of strength and inspiration throughout her life.

Evelyn attended a small country school, graduated from high school in Benton Harbor, graduated from both the Benton Harbor Business School and Moody Bible Institute.

Evelyn married the Reverend Robert Dale Chaddock in 1945, and they pastored churches for many years in Iowa and Pennsylvania. She enjoyed being a pastor's wife.

Later in life Evelyn worked at First Baptist Church of Wheaton and then at Conservator Baptist Foreign Mission Society. She volunteered with Outreach Ministries and was involved in various women's Bible studies at First Baptist Church, which she attended for 45 years.

Evelyn will be remembered as a woman of Godly character, faithful in her walk with the Lord and loved greatly by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by four children, Myrna (David) Bennett of Colorado Springs, CO, Darlene (David) Heikkila of Mount Vernon, MO, Gloria Bulthouse of Naperville, IL, and Timothy (Diana) Chaddock; twelve grandchildren, Nicole (Randy) Gross and Joshua (Rachel) Bennett, Jeremiah (Shauna) Heikkila, Samuel (Jenny) Heikkila and Shalom Heikkila and partner Lisa Lake, Jennifer (Milton) Kicklighter, Katie (Gaby) Correa, Joy (Erik) Throndsen, John (Jessica) Bulthouse, Jason Chaddock, Michelle (Phil) Daubenmire, and Joshua (Ashley) Chaddock; twenty-two great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence Miller and Sherrill (Paul) Wesner; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Robert Dale Chaddock; her son, Robert Dale Chaddock, Jr.; her brother, Edwin Miller; her sister, Lillian Wesner; son-in-law, John Bulthouse; and daughter-in-law, Janet Chaddock.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 3-8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Wheaton , 1310 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. Interment will be private at Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor, MI.
