Eugene V. Turner, age 91, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, died Friday, January 23, at Windsor's Johnson Healthcare Center. He was born May 13, 1917 in Brainerd, MN.
Eugene lived most of his life in Minneapolis, MN and moved to the local DuPage County area in Illinois in 1984. He was the Payroll Supervisor at the Soo Line Railroad Co. in Minneapolis, MN for many years. He was a member of Village Green Baptist Church in Glen Ellyn, as well as a member of the American Legion. He was always active in whatever church he attended. He enjoyed photography and fixing things around the house.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucile; his daughter, Nancy (Ron) Salzman of Winfield; four grandchildren, Greg (Marcia), Jessy (Daniel) Balma, and Joy and Christopher Salzman; four great-grandchildren, Emma and Grace Balma, and Lexi and Caleb Salzman; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Turner.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 26, at 2:00 P.M. at Windsor Park, 124 Windsor Park Dr., in Carol Stream. Interment is private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
