Esther D. Pino, age 81, a resident of Highland, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 3, 2015, at Park Place of Elmhurst. She was born August 26, 1933 in Chicago to Stephen and Mary Klec.
Esther graduated from Kelly High School in Chicago. She studied organ at Moody Bible Institute, a skill she used throughout her life. She met Manuel "Manny" Pino at a roller skating rink. They were married on May 1, 1954 at Trinity Baptist Church in Chicago. After the birth of their children, they moved to Highland, Indiana in 1971. In 2000, Manny went to be with the Lord.
Esther's Christian faith was an important part of life that she lived out through service to others and at church. Her primary ministry was to her family. She served at Bellevue Baptist Church and Lorimer Memorial Baptist Church in various ministries including pianist and organist, "Piano lady" for the toddler department, Pioneer Girls leader, and organizing meals. In recent years she served as an organist at Lake Hills Baptist Church in Schererville. She also served at Bibles for Missions Thrift Shop and was employed at Zanstra's Farm Stands and Greenhouse.
She enjoyed traveling, and attending concerts and shows. She raised vegetables and orchids, and loved to be out in her flower garden. Her favorite thing by far was to be with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Robert Pino of Glendale Heights and Donna (Kevin) Iler of Villa Park, six grandchildren, Emily Pino, Katie Pino, Grant (Katie) Iler, Rachel Iler, Caleb Iler, and Brianna Iler, and two great-grandchildren, Riley Pino and Hazel Iler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Paul and John, and three sisters, Anna, Mildred, and Bessie.
