Obituary

Ernest Pisacane, 85, of Downers Grove, passed away on April 4, 2005 at the Fairview Baptist Home in Downers Grove. Mr. Pisacane was born in Shelton on September 19, 1919, and resided there until 1998. He was the son of the late Salvatore and Assunta Pisacane. He is survived by his beloved sister and former Shelton resident, Virginia Cutarelli (the late James), also of Downers Grove, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Alfred, Ralph, John, Joseph, Carl, Eugene, and Albert Pisacane and one sister, Mary Far.

Mr. Pisacane graduated from Shelton High School in 1937. He joined the U.S. Army at the start of WWII. He served with the 101st Calvary, first in a horse regiment and later as a tank driver. As a technical sergeant, he went overseas to England, took part in the liberation of Paris, and fought on the front lines in Germany. After the war, he worked in the family business for many years and later became an employee of Avco Lycoming. Mr. Pisacane enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was named 2004 resident of the year at the Fairview Baptist Home, where he especially loved participating in competitive games and social activities.

Services will be held in Shelton, Ct and at Fairview Baptist Home. Memorials may be directed to Fairview Baptist Home or the National Parkinson's Foundation.
