Elva A. Richard's Obituary
Elva A. Richard, age 92, a resident of Arlington Heights, IL, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Wynscape Nursing Center in Wheaton, IL. She was born April 25, 1918 in Hinton, OK.
Elva was a homemaker and devoted mother. She cared for her daughter, Marla, in her home for over 20 years. She was a member of Judson Baptist Church in Oak Park, and also Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church.
She is survived by her children, Karen (Rodney) Rogers of Hawthorn Woods, IL, and Frank E. (Darcy) Richard of Wheaton; six grandchildren, Erik (Sara) Rogers, and Kirsten (Jason) Sendelbach, and Rebecca, Nathan, Christina, and Michelle Richard; and her great-grandchildren, Allison and Griffin Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Frank; her daughter, Marla Richard; a sister, Anna Burt; and three brothers, Stephen, Frank and Elry Fossett.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 25, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a funeral service to be held at 11:00 a.m. at College Church in Wheaton, 332 E. Seminary Ave. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights.
Memorials may be directed to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28201; or to Moody Bible Institute, 820 N. LaSalle Blvd., Chicago, IL 60610; or to Wheaton College, 501 College Avenue, Wheaton, IL 60187.
