Ella Ilkenhans, age 87, a resident of Wheaton, and formerly of Nottingham Street in Chicago, died Wednesday, February 6, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. She was born May 26, 1920 in Berlin, Germany.

Ella loved her family. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed flowers. She had a love of cooking for her family and sharing with friends.

She is survived by her three children, Carol Thurow, Donald Ilkenhans, Beverly (Tom) Quattrocchi, all of Wheaton; five grandchildren, Kenneth, Chantelle, Trevor, Tyler, and Dustin; and four great-grandchildren, Neil, Cameron, Haley, and Shelby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ilkenhans; and her grandson, Steven.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 8, from 3-9 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, where services will be held on Saturday, February 9 at 11:00 A.M. Interment is private.
