Elizabeth P
Wetteroth
November 22, 1926 – January 22, 2021
Elizabeth (Betty) Wetteroth, age 94, a resident of Wheaton and Wynscape Nursing Home, went to be with the Lord on January 22, 2021. She was born November 22, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri to Charles and Pauline Heyward.
She attended Harris Teacher's College and eventually worked at Southwestern Bell instructing service representatives. After growing up in St. Louis she moved to New Jersey where she raised her family. In 1980 the family moved to Wheaton, IL.
Her church was always an important part of her life. Betty was a faithful and active member of Morris Plains Presbyterian Church in New Jersey and First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton. She served as an Elder, Deacon, and Stephen Minister. She participated in many committees, women's groups, Bible studies, singing groups, and taught adult education classes.
Betty was always busy with her creative endeavors. She painted, sewed, gardened, knitted, crocheted, arranged flowers, quilted, created Banners for Church, and always shared the message of the Christmas story through her artwork on the family Christmas card. She enjoyed reading and participating in several neighborhood groups. Betty was a life-long learner. She often took adult education classes and even spent vacations attending Elderhostels around the country. She was always humble regarding her creative gifts and often said "Oh, it's not hard, you could do it".
She is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Bill Wetteroth, her children, Bruce Wetteroth, Tom (Marylynn) Wetteroth, and Amy (Brett) Keske and 3 grandchildren, Spencer, Jackson, and Carter. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother, Bill Heyward.
