Betty Sterk, age 64, a longtime resident of Wheaton, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL She was born October 16,1946, in Chicago, was raised in Crown Point, IN, and graduated with a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Indiana.

She was a member at Warrenville Bible Chapel and attended Bethany Bible Chapel in Wheaton for many years. Betty worked for the Wheaton School District 200 for the past 17 years as a substitute teacher, teacher's aide, reading aide, and ESL aide. She worked with children at family camps and Sunday Schools, and she helped to coordinate women's Bible conferences. She enjoyed reading, decorating her home for each season, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, John Sterk of Wheaton, IL; her sons, JT (Rachel) Sterk of Janesville, WI, and Seth Sterk of Wheaton, IL; her brothers, Bob (Beth) Marshall of St. Charles, IL, Jim (Marsha) Marshall of Indianapolis, IN, and Bruce (Bonnie) Marshall of Aurora, IL; many nieces, nephews, and close friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ruth Marshall; her brother, Edward (Judy) Marshall Jr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011, from 3-7 PM at Warrenville Bible Chapel, 4 S. 157 Curtis Avenue in Warrenville, where services will be held on Saturday at 1 PM. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton.
